About Storyaverse

The path a story takes on the platform: why we exist, how to publish, how to set up your plans, how readers pay, and what Storyaverse charges.

What is Storyaverse?

A self-publishing platform for authors and artists of books and comics, dedicated to creative freedom.

For decades, artists depended on large publishers and companies to publish their work and make it known to the public. The internet changed that: it let any creator share their stories with the world, and let readers discover works they might otherwise never have known. That change drove a great global cultural movement, and once-unknown stories won audiences around the world.

In the face of recent moves by large corporations to censor artistic works, Storyaverse was created to offer a space dedicated to creative freedom.

We believe art is the expression of the soul, and that no one should have the power to decide what we may think, create, enjoy, or feel.

We want a world where every story has the chance to be told, and where no work or author is condemned to a potential that never came to be.

Storyaverse's philosophy is to keep evolving to meet the needs and hopes of those who bring art to life: creators and readers. We believe a platform truly dedicated to art must grow alongside its community, listening to its ideas, criticism, and suggestions.

How much does it cost to publish?

Nothing. You publish your comics, manga, and books for free, and the work remains yours alone.

You can also create a subscription system to monetize your works, offering both free and paid content.

We charge nothing for you to make your works available as an author. We only take a commission on the subscriptions your readers pay you, so we can keep the platform running. See the fees.

The work is yours. Only yours.

Everything you publish on Storyaverse must be your own work, so you must hold the rights to it.

Every work published here belongs exclusively to its author: the platform takes no share of the rights in any way. Storyaverse was created to benefit authors and has no interest whatsoever in claiming anyone else's art.

How do subscription plans work?

You can create up to 5 subscription tiers to separate what you offer in each one, and still publish free content.

How much does Storyaverse charge?

Only a commission on subscriptions: 20% on standard payments and 15% in stablecoin.

Storyaverse was created to benefit artists, so we try to keep fees as low as possible so that authors are paid for their work.

Because the payment processor charges fees, the net amount the author receives already has that cost deducted. The exception is stablecoin payments: there the platform absorbs the costs, and the author actually receives 85% of the subscription price, in full.
